After the success of their inaugural Golden Bone Dog Race last year we are upping the ante.
Marrickville Dog Day 2019 is an event collaboration between with Pound Paws and The Henson. This is a community event which aims to bring together dogs and dog lovers alike, to spread the word on animal adoption and supporting Inner West canine rescue organisations and charities in the process.
This event is guaranteed to get tails wagging – with a variety of paw-some pet stalls, dog rescue groups and live entertainment, your doggie is in for a treat!
A close neighbour’s car yard is also activated to ensure the fun is spread right around the neighbourhood! Think street party vibes!
“Pound Paws is delighted to be raising awareness about the importance of choosing to adopt instead of shop when it comes to getting a pet. It is the charity’s first time hosting a dog adoption in Marrickville and is looking forward to this partnership with The Henson.” says Brittany Bloomer, Founder of Pound Paws.
Pound Paws will host over 12 different pet stallholders, ranging from professional pet photographers, dog treat tastings, free vet checks and much more!
Attendees can be treated to live entertainment, ranging from educational vet chats, a Golden Bone Race* competition as well as a Rescue Dog Adoption Parade, where dogs available for adoption will strut their stuff on the cat walk.
* Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (small dog / big dog division). Race times and registrations to be confirmed.
Rescue groups within the Inner-west Sydney region will be involved, with dogs available for adoption. The day is dedicated to making sure all dog tails are wagging!
When: Saturday 26th of January 2019, from 12pm to 4pm
Where: The Henson, 91 Illawarra Road, Marrickville, NSW 2204
